Tremors were felt by residents in parts of Savusavu in the last hour.
Elia Waqa from Yaroi, Savusavu told us that he was cleaning the house when he noticed household items shaking around 9am.
Waqa says the tremors lasted for five seconds.
Similar reports were also received from Nakama, Savusavu.
The Mineral Resources Department has confirmed that a 4.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded 77km south-south west of Savusavu at a depth of 43km.
There is no threat of a Tsunami.
