Treasurer pleads guilty to corruption related charges

Nadroga/Navosa Provincial Council’s former Treasurer Usenia Susu has pleaded guilty to engaging in corrupt practices in the Sigatoka Magistrates Court today.

FICAC charged her with one count each of Obtaining a Financial Advantage and General Dishonesty – Causing a Loss.

Susu admitted to inflating the amounts on 24 cheques belonging to the Nadroga/Navosa Provincial Council Carnival account in order to obtain a financial advantage amounting to $9,323.

She has waived her right to counsel and was released on bail.

The matter has been adjourned to 9th November.
