Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said Fiji went into the Forum Ministerial Contact Group meeting with an open mind and he hopes that countries like Australia and New Zealand know that their travel sanction policy against Fiji is ridiculous.
Sayed-Khaiyum said many people still do not come on board to take up senior positions due to the bans.
The issue of sanctions was not discussed during the Contact Group visit which included New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully and Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr.
