National Men’s 7s coach Osea Kolinisau says he is trying to get the team used to the games schedule by having high intensity training to replicate their games.

Kolinisau says their training schedule has been designed in the way it will be at the Paris Olympics so that the players’ mind and mentality can get used to playing two games a day, rest and then play again the following day, which is the new format of games at the Olympics.

Kolinisau says the energy in camp is really good as there are a lot of laughter but the boys know they will still have to fight for their spot in the final squad.

Kolinisau adds he will name the final 13-member squad once they move to the Games village next week.

Fiji will face Uruguay at 3am next Thursday in their first match, they will then take on the USA at 6.30am on the same day, before playing hosts France at 1.30am next Friday in their final pool match.

The Men’s quarter finals will kick off at 7am next Friday.

The semi finals will kick off at 1.30am next Sunday and the final will be at 5.45am.
