Tourism Fiji says easing of Australian travel requirements will boost bookings

Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill.

Tourism Fiji CEO, Brent Hill says the announcement by Australia of a change to rapid antigen test for pre-departure from PCR test, and a change in the isolation policy to 7 days instead of 14 days for positive cases is welcome news for tourism in Fiji.

Hill says removing these two barriers to tourism is significant and they are pleased that the Australian Government has seen fit to make the change as this will boost bookings, particularly heading into the high season from April onwards.

The CEO adds with many Australian states now quarantine free for international travellers, including Queensland, it is now far easier, cheaper and simpler for Australians to travel to and from Fiji, which is really good news for tourism in our country.

He says they have consistently worked with the various authorities to ensure they keep tourists safe but also provide the easiest and most seamless way to travel.
