Commissioner of Police Sitiveni Qiliho and members of the Command Group kicked off the Required Fitness Level Tests at the Nasese foreshore this morning as the Force has laid to rest 5 police officers so far this year who succumbed to NCD complications.

The Commissioner is concerned with the health and the level of fitness for some members of the institution following the high number of deaths of Police officers succumbing to Non‑Communicable Diseases.

Qiliho says the health of officers has always been an area of concern as the people of Fiji expect more from members of the force.

He says one's health and their ability to produce the desired outputs are linked and that is why the Force cannot have sickly officers as they won't be able to serve efficiently in the demanding profession.

Qiliho also says that they are grateful to the Ministry of Health for assisting them with their Health Audit so they are able to understand what needs to be addressed with their health.

The Required Fitness Level Tests will be conducted in all four policing divisions.
