Tongan military to arrive in Lakeba ahead of Tui Nayau and Tui Lau installation ceremonies

As the installation of the Tui Nayau and the Sau ni Vanua o Lau draws near, the military force from the Kingdom of Tonga is expected to arrive on the island of Lakeba today.

Tubou Village headman, Waqavonovono Temo says the Vanua of Lau is fully prepared to welcome all visitors to the island.

Temo also highlighted that some of the elders who witnessed the installation of the late Tui Nayau and Sau ni Vanua o Lau, Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara, are now on the island to witness the installation of the next Tui Lau, 62 years later.

The ceremony for the installation of the Tui Nayau Sau ni Vanua o Lau will be held next Tuesday, while the installation ceremony of the Tui Lau will be held in Tubou next Thursday.
