Minister for Home Affairs, Pio Tikoduadua says he is concerned about the conditions in which the officers at the Lautoka Station do their work and to say the condition is deplorable is an understatement.

While speaking during his tour of the Western Division, Tikoduadua says he has instructed the Acting Commissioner that officers should move in immediately when the new Lautoka Police Station is completed.

He says he has been getting similar sentiments while visiting Suva and other remote stations.

Tikoduadua says resources and money are always a problem but he will try and do his best to support them in their line of work in the way that they need.

He further says there is a distinct standard to uphold but this is not going to come easy as resources are not readily available.

The Minister adds it calls on the professionalism of the Force to develop cultural change, move in the right direction and follow the Police Force motto that is they should be in service of the people.
