Thousands of people living in the Central Division are currently facing water cuts as the Waila Water Treatment Plant is having electrical issues.

This has affected supply to the Raralevu, Wainibuku and Upper Tovata water systems.

Affected areas include Raralevu, Rewa Depot, Wainibuku, Kalabu, Nasinu, Flagstaff, Tovata, Makoi, Cunningham, Sakoca, Khalsa, Tacirua, Dokanisuva and Colo-i-Suva.

The Water Authority of Fiji says their teams are working to rectify the issue and restore normal operations as soon as possible.

They are also urging Fijians to store water for at least 5 to 7 days in case of unexpected disruptions due to natural disasters.
