Former Prime Minister and FijiFirst Leader Voreqe Bainimarama

Former Prime Minister and FijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama says this is democracy and this is my legacy.

Speaking outside parliament Sitiveni Rabuka’s election as Prime Minister, Bainimarama says SODELPA has given the supporters of People’s Alliance and NFP the change they wanted.

He also says he hopes he is the Leader of the Opposition.

FijiFirst MP, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says he hopes the new People’s Alliance/NFP/SODELPA coalition government will adhere to the rule of law.

He says the PA’s manifesto says they will get rid of FICAC but to do that, you need to amend the Constitution.

Sayed-Khaiyum says you need three quarters of parliament and three quarters of the registered voters to agree to the amendment.

He says some of the media were earlier saying that the PA/NFP/SODELPA coalition were the government when they were not at the time.

He also talked about direct representations being made by the PA/NFP to SODELPA for ambassadorial positions and Ro Teimumu Kepa offered the post of President.

He says the FijiFirst’s offer was based on the party, not individual members.
