There is a need to regularise the operation of illegal passenger vehicle or 'pari' as they satisfy a need.
This has been highlighted by Minister for Transport, Ro Filipe Tuisawau they satisfy a need where for instance, some taxi do not run after hours.
He says they are currently undergoing public consultation and there is definitely a need to regularise it but the freeze on its operation still exists.
The Minister says they are looking at regulations related to this but it needs to be looked at holistically.
