There has been a lot of damage to the marine environment in the Draunibota Bay area and this continues to affect us - Liku

One of the residents living near Draunibota Bay in Lami says a lot of damage has been done to the marine environment in the area, and this continues to affect them.

Maraia Liku who has lived in the area for about 24 years, says the oil spills and other rubbish has affected the marine life in the area.

Liku says they have seen ships being cleaned and rubbish just being dumped into the sea.

She says her late father had raised the issue with the authorities however nothing much has been done. Liku hopes action is taken.
