The significance of Eid is purely spiritual.
This was highlighted by the National President of the Fiji Muslim League, Haji Basheer Ahmed in his Eid message.
Ahmed says the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr highlights the spirit of sacrifice and the joy of sharing.
He further says Eid is a day of thanksgiving and remembrance.
Ahmed adds they offer their gratitude to the Almighty for helping them to fulfill their spiritual obligations.
He further says they also remember the needy by extending a hand of help, showing sympathy and utterances of good wishes.
