Permanent Secretary for Health, Dr. James Fong says they have not suspended the protocol where people have to scan the QR code using their careFIJI app when going into supermarkets and other places.

He clarified this when a participant asked during the Tourism Talanoa session whether the Ministry of Health has suspended this protocol as when they go to supermarkets, they are being told that scanning of the QR code is suspended.

Dr. Fong says he has always said this protocol should remain as it helps in identifying potential contacts.

He says they still need the app to be able to have a group of people that they can talk to and see and assess their level of risk.
