The government to look at initiatives where they can assist people that do not have any FNPF account

The government is looking at initiatives where they can assist people that do not have any FNPF account.

Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says at this point in time they do not have any direct assistance from government but they are monitoring the situation and looking at what are the other types of initiatives they need to put in place.

Fijivillage also asked Sayed-Khaiyum about people raising the issue that the $150 assistance available under the Unemployment Benefit for Workers in the Informal Sector within lockdown areas not being enough to meet the current exorbitant prices of goods.

Sayed-Khaiyum says at this point in time these are the resources they have made available and there will obliviously be a lot more people that will come forward as there are more job losses but they need to be able to stretch the dollar.
