The focus is on improving the quality of life for people, including services such as health, education, roads, water supply, electricity, and agriculture.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad highlighted this during a stakeholders meeting with the Seaqaqa residents, farmers and landowners.

Professor Prasad also advised the Seaqaqa residents on the Vanua Levu Tourism Development Project.

He says this project will ensure that the Northern Division will also have facilities that will attract tourists in the coming years which will contribute to the economy.

The Deputy Prime Minister says the objectives are to strengthen targeted infrastructure and essential services, increase coordination and private sector participation in tourism, and enhance the environmental sustainability of tourism assets.

Professor Prasad further says this will positively impact the livelihood of people as new job opportunities will increase.

He adds the government is also assisting farmers in the agriculture sector where the weedicide and fertilizer subsidy launch also took place for rice farmers.
