The Naitasiri Provincial Council aims to fill the 50 to 54 percent of vacant chiefly position by next year.

Naitasiri Provincial Council Chairman Ratu Jone Baledrokadroka says they will collaborate with the iTaukei Lands and Fisheries Commission to fill all its vacant customary chiefly positions.

Ratu Jone says the Commission is responsible for managing and updating various important registers for the iTaukei.

He says the iTaukei Lands and Fisheries Commission is visiting all the provinces to address this issue and is currently in Serua.

The Chairman says they hope the Commission will come to Naitasiri soon so they can resolve this matter.
