Team Fiji Basketball and Netball fall short in finals

Team Fiji Men’s and Women’s Basketball 3x3 have had to settle for silver in their finals this afternoon.

The Women’s team went down 11-7 to Tahiti while the Men’s team were edged 19-18 by Guam.

Earlier this afternoon, the Fiji Kulas Netball team went down fighting 55-52 to a strong Tongan side with the lead changing hands a couple of times throughout the game.

The mixed Touch Rugby side has won bronze after defeating Cook Islands 12-5.

Fiji is in sixth place with 21 gold, 30 silver and 39 bronze.

New Caledonia is leading with 80 gold, 57 silver and 58 bronze while Tahiti is second with 57 gold, 53 silver and 50 bronze medals.
