Fiji has the ideal climate to plant Teak which is a valuable asset for the hotel industry.
Rodderick Evers, the Manager for Future Forest Industry in his presentation at the 39th Fiji Accountants Congress, said that the Teak trees have a high return for the economy.

Evers said that while Fiji has a plant a million trees initiative, focus should be on planting specific varieties mainly the Teak trees.
Meanwhile, the participants were earlier informed that 900 million dollars is expected to be generated from the Namosi Highlands as part of the Namosi Joint venture with New Crest Mining Limited.
The project is for cooper and gold in the highlands.
