School teacher to front court for allegedly assaulting a student

A 37-year-old school teacher will appear in the Lautoka Magistrates Court today for allegedly assaulting a seven-year-old student in December, last year.

Divisional Police Commander West, Surend Sami confirms the teacher has been charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

The alleged incident occurred at a Primary School in Lautoka.

The school teacher was questioned and released when the initial complaint was lodged however he was taken into custody on Friday.
