The search is underway for a taxi driver who has been missing since last Monday.

His taxi was found abandoned in Suva City last Tuesday.

41-year-old Arvin Chand was last seen leaving home in his taxi on the morning of Saturday, 2nd November, the day after Diwali.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Chand’s father, Satya Chand says the taxi owner and the police found his taxi in front of the Suva Flea Market at 3pm last Tuesday.

Chand says the taxi doors were open while the keys were on the seat of the vehicle.

The 68-year-old adds that they last spoke to Arvin at 9.30pm on Monday, after which his phone has been diverted.

He says they have searched for him at the homes of his friends and family, but to no avail.

The father says his son was last seen wearing a blue dotted shirt, black jeans and black safety boots.

Arvin lives with his parents on Farm Road, 10 Miles in Nausori.

Police say a missing persons report was lodged at the Nakasi Police Station last Friday.

Anyone with information that could help locate Arvin Chand is urged to call their nearest police station or his father on 929 2998.
