Taxi Metre Recalibration Comes to An End

Taxi Metre Recalibration Comes to An End
The deadline for all the taxis around the country to have their taxi meters recalibrated comes to an end today.

Land Transport Authority Media Liasion Officer, Eroni Volavola said only a small number of taxi operators and drivers were coming for the adjustments and they are not responsible for the rush if they have not been able to have their taxi meters recalibrated.

Fiji Taxi Union Lautoka Branch Secretary Abdul Munal had earlier claimed that many of their members were being turned away from the LTA office because they have run out of lead which is used to seal the meters.

Volavola said LTA lautoka did run out of lead on Wednesday but their stocks were replenished on Thursday.
