Talks underway to extend Nausori Airport runway
Talks are well underway with the Naselai landowners on the extension of the Nausori Airport.

The Airports Fiji Limited, the I-taukei Land Trust Board and the Director of lands are currently negotiating with the landowners based on the draft memorandum of understanding.

I-taukei Land Trust Board general manager, Alipate Qetaki is hopeful the landowners’ issues are resolved before the green-light is given for the project.

AFL Acting CEO Naushad Ali said AFL is currently negotiating with the Lands Department on the acquisition of the land at Nausori, which belongs to the villages of Naselai and Natogadravu in Tailevu and comprises more than four landowning units.

The cost of the redevelopment of the Nausori Airport is around $60 million.
