As we celebrate Diwali, the Leader of Opposition Inia Seruiratu is encouraging all Fijians to take this opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and understanding that unite us as a nation.

Seruiratu says it is a moment not only for celebration, but also for reflection to be thankful for the blessings we enjoy and to extend compassion, love and generosity to those who are less fortunate.

He says the true spirit of Diwali lies in its message of togetherness and renewal.

Seruiratu says Diwali reminds us that, regardless of our backgrounds, beliefs, or circumstances, we are one people bound by our shared love for this beautiful country we call home.

The Leader of Opposition says Diwali is one of the most significant celebrations in our multicultural society which reminds us of the eternal message that light will always triumph over darkness and that good will always prevail over evil.

Seruiratu says it is a time that inspires us to renew our faith in hope and unity.

He says during this festive period, thousands of Fijians will light diyas, decorate their homes, share sweets and come together in joy and thanksgiving.

Seruiratu is wishing all members of our Fijian community a very Happy and Blessed Diwali.

He adds may the divine light of Diwali bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to every home and may it continue to guide our nation toward a brighter, more inclusive and more hopeful future.
