Student loans and repayments are not impacting overall Government revenue or services.

This has been stated by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service after revelations that over $571 million is owed to government in TELS arrears.

When questioned, FRCS says their revenue collection is going very well and the net collection for May 2022 was over 100%.

According to the FRCS, $603 million has been paid for TELS as at 31st May 2022 while total recovery for the same period is $23 million.

FRCS and Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Service have signed an understanding to facilitate loan recovery processes for graduate TELS recipients.
