Category 1 Tropical Cyclone Tam, located to the North of New Caledonia is not expected to directly impact the Fiji Group.

The Nadi Weather Office says it continues to move South, away from Fiji.

They say however, associated rain bands are expected to affect the Western Division.

Meanwhile, a heavy rain warning remains in force for Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca Groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

A heavy rain alert remains for the rest of Fiji.

A trough of low pressure lies over the group and ssociated cloud and rain are expected to affect the country for the next few days.

Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding of some low-lying informal settlements and communities, businesses and Irish Crossings - leading to disruption to traffic flow.

It could also lead to surface flooding on streets, particularly in urban areas with poor drainage systems and reduced visibility.
