Suva man pleads not guilty to robbing and raping a woman

A 37-year-old man who is alleged to have raped, assaulted and robbed a 58-year-old woman in a settlement in Suva has pleaded not guilty to all his charges.

He is charged with 3 counts of rape, 2 counts of sexual assault and a count each of robbery, assault causing actual body harm, damaging property and criminal intimidation.

The two are from the same settlement.

The alleged incident occurred on 17th January, last year.

High Court Judge Justice Aruna Aluthge will set a trial date on the 22nd of this month.
