The Suva Taxi Association and its executive members have welcomed the new coalition Government of the People’s Alliance, National Federation Party and SODELPA.

The Association says they look forward to working with the new Government for the betterment of the Fiji Taxi Industry.

They also welcome and congratulate the Minister for Transport Ro Filipe Tuisawau.

The Suva Taxi Association says they look forward with keenness to meeting the new Minister to allow them the opportunity to discuss issues of importance to the industry, namely the open taxi rank system and illegal operators of private cars operating as taxis in the Suva City boundary.

The Association says taxi operators are facing a lot of operational challenges and it is of great concern to them.

They are saying they also anticipate and look forward to consultations with the new Government before any new changes are made relating to the industry.
