$30 million will be injected into Fiji’s economy by the American reality show, Survivor which will be produced in Fiji again this year.

It will also create jobs for more than 400 Fijians.

While speaking at the launch of the movie “Him- The Angry One” Minister for Commerce, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya says the best part about this production was that over 30 Fijians got jobs and we all know how important that is.

The total cost of production for the movie was $35,000. “Him- The Angry One” is about the struggle of a deportee and victim of substance abuse.

Based on real-life experiences, the movie is about a person’s encounter with a deportee where the Director Rasika Reshma has tried to create awareness of the adversity of drugs on its victims.

The Acting Attorney General says this movie tells us that there is a need for us to open up about substance abuse in our homes, schools and the wider community to overcome its countless adversities.

Koya says he hopes Reshma will set an example for other Fijian film-makers to use their skill to raise issues affecting our families, society and the nation as a whole.
