All Blacks and Crusaders prop Joe Moody will have surgery and faces up to five months out of the game.
Crusaders coach Scott Robertson confirmed his premier loosehead prop required surgery on the foot he busted against the Hurricanes a fortnight ago.
The Crusaders initially suspected Moody might not require surgery, but further investigation revealed surgery was necessary.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs will play the Blues at 7.05pm Saturday while the Hurricanes will face the Highlanders at 7.05pm Friday.
