The Fiji Rugby Super 7s Series will be like a training base for the national team as they aim to be competitive when they return to the international stage.

Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber says every tournament that is played in Fiji is highly competitive and intense.

Baber says the tournament will prepare the players to be competitive and also identify potential new players.

He adds he will also keep a close tab on players discipline.

Teams such as Tabadamu, Police White, Police Blue, FDS Barbarians, Ratu Filise, Wardens, Uluinakau and Army will feature in the 7s series.

The first leg of the Super 7s Series kicks off at 9am Friday at Lawaqa Park.
