Super 7s Series: Barbarians struggle for 19-17 win over Eastern Saints

2 yellow cards in the second half almost cost the Heart International Barbarians their first match against the Eastern Saints as they held on to win 19-17 in the Fun Flavour Super 7s Series.

Former national 7s rep Vatemo Ravouvou was yellow carded in the last 2 minutes of the game followed by another yellow card to Seremaia Bolawai.

Jerry Tuwai controlled the game well in the first half for the Barbarians setting up two tries for Kaminieli Rasaku.

Manueli Maisamoa scored the other try for the Barbarians in the second half.

In other results, Raiwasa Taveuni beat Devo Babas 12-5, Dominion Brothers defeated Fire 15-5, Police Blue beat Uluinakau 12-10, Ratu Filise edged Stallions 12-7, Tabadamu thrashed Nawaka 33-0, Army beat Police White 21-12 and Wardens defeated Wadigi Salvo 15-12.

The men’s cup quarter-finals will start at 10.30am tomorrow, the semi-finals will be at 2pm and the final will kick off at 6pm tomorrow.
