A 67-year-old sugarcane farmer of Johnson Road in Drasa, Lautoka says they are lucky to be in a lockdown situation and has also praised government’s decision to implement a curfew from tonight.

Narend Prasad says it was important that Lautoka was put on lockdown to stop the spread of COVID-19.

He says if there wasn’t a lockdown, there wouldn’t have been five cases and hundreds of people would have tested positive for COVID-19.

Prasad says he is hoping that Lautoka residents will abide by the rules and government will lift the lockdown in Lautoka as he wants to travel to Suva to visit his grandchildren.

Prasad says people should use this time for gardening and spend quality time with their loved ones at home.
