The Head Teacher of a primary school in Kinoya says he will remind students about road safety after fijivillage raised questions regarding students seen jaywalking on Kings Highway near the school.

He says that the school’s road patrol is only used in the afternoons when students leave school.

According to him, students were told to cross at the Kinoya traffic lights, however, he was unaware of students jaywalking.

This poses a great risk as there could be serious or fatal road accidents, especially with children involved without assistance near roads.

We ask parents and schools to take responsibility for the well-being of the children and teach them road safety measures.
