Many students badly affected by the recent floods in the Western division who have started going back to school need urgent assistance.
This includes lunch packs, uniforms and stationary.
DISMAC Director, Pajiliai Dobui said they are trying their best to provide for the families who remain at the evacuation centres and those who are not at the centres.
However Dobui said the students need assistance.
1832 people remain at the evacuation centres this afternoon.
Dobui said they are continuing to provide ration packs through a coordinated approach with the other agencies and organizations to all those badly affected.
Dobui said the total figures on the number of ratio packs distributed and the number of families assisted will be revealed later this week.
DISMAC is also assessing the number of houses completely damaged by the floods and the families who have lost all their belongings when flood waters rushed into their homes.
