A strong wind warning remains in force for the Lau group.
The Nadi Meteorological Service said severe tropical Cyclone Ian was located about 320km east-northeast of Lakeba at 3am this morning.
It is slowly moving east southeast at 5km per hour.
The Weather office said the Lau group can experience strong southerly winds with average speed of 45km per hour and momentary gusts to 65km per hour.
Winds should ease overnight.
