Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has stressed that if the Methodist Church of Fiji involves politics within its church activities then the permit for the church conference for next year will be cancelled.
Commodore Bainimarama said allowing politicians to be in the pulpit to preach is not right and he will not tolerate it.
Commodore Bainimarama said he thought the Methodist Church has changed its direction and was concentrating on the spiritual growth and development of its members.
Former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase and former President of the Methodist Church Reverend Tomasi Kanailagi preached at Suva’s Centenary Church last Sunday.
