The stage is set for the biggest show in the South Pacific tonight.
More than 450 students will battle it out tonight with pumping music, dance, drama and art in the FM96 Tadra Kahani with Connect supported by BSPLife and Fijivillage.
The students will portray real life issues like Violence Against Women, Reality In Dream, Human Trafficking, Poverty, Financial Problems, Life-Light verses Darkness, Youths to take up responsibilities and Gambling.
We spoke to many students and co-ordinators and they say it is expected to be tough this year as they are all eager to give the people a spectacular performance and win the Tadra Kahani title.
Defending champions Cathedral Secondary School want to lift their standard to a totally different level tonight.
With the powerful theme of “Abolish Violence Against Women”, the 50 students will put the struggles of women in the spotlight and call for action from everyone.
Cathedral Secondary co-ordinator Tepola Sogotubu said it is not about who is the best dancer but it’s about who will send their message across.
Sogotubu urges everyone to prepare themselves for their powerful message.
A total of 22,841 cases of violence against women and children were reported to the Fiji Police Force last year.
The best sound and light equipment has been brought in for the Tadra Kahani.
SPR sound engineer, Alex Chand who will be the DJ for tonight said Tadra Kahani is always exciting for them as it is the biggest show in Fiji.
Meanwhile light engineer Paula Basoga is excited to operate the new digital lights mixer tonight as it took him one year to learn all the features.
Vodafone Arena will rock with 10 thousand watts of sound and $1.4 million worth of lights that will be used by SPR for the show.
The schools that are participating to win this year’s Tadra Kahani trophy are defending champions Cathedral Secondary School, Dilkusha Methodist High School, Lomary Secondary School, International School Suva, International School Nadi, Suva Grammar School, Blue Light Fiji Group, John Wesley College and Basden College.
The winner gets $2,500, the first runner-up gets $1,500 while the second runner-up gets $1,000.
Tadra Kahani starts at the Vodafone Arena at 7 tonight.
