Spinal Injury Association receives Wheelchair Accessible Van from Japan

The Spinal Injury Association today received a Wheelchair Accessible Van from the Government of Japan to assist the Association with their transportation difficulties.

The Spinal Injury Association says that today’s event marks another milestone achievement for them since they have longed for this aid many years ago, to provide easy access for them.

The Deputy Head of Mission for the Japanese Embassy, Kenichiro Tanaka says this van is equipped with advanced equipment to accommodate wheelchairs while boarding, disembarking and overall transportation difficulties faced by the association transporting those in need of mobility assistance.

Tanaka says supporting this project is an integral part of their continued partnership with the Fiji government and its people to help achieve Sustainable Development Goal 3.

He adds the government of Japan will continue to support Fiji in the future.
