Civil servants continue to receive special privileges when they visit any government hospitals or health centers.
It has been confirmed that the long-standing practice also has civil servants paying less for their stay in the hospitals.
Health Ministry spokesperson, Peni Namotu explained the privileges, which he said has been in place for long and has not been reviewed as part of the new paying structure for paying patients.
Namotu revealed the low amount of fees that civil servants have to pay for staying at the paying wards.
It’s not known at this stage on whether this long-standing system will now be reviewed based on the government reviewing fees and charges, and having a fair system for all.
