Spain has been crowned the new FIFA Women’s World Cup Champions after beating England 1-0 in a thrilling final in Sydney last night.

The Spanish side was full of flair and creativity and held on the possession despite England’s best efforts to score a goal. Spain has brought pride to its nation after winning their first-ever Women's World Cup. Captain Olga Carmona scored the lone goal for Spain in the first spell.

England will now have to wait another 4 years to try and win their first FIFA Women's World Cup title.

Spain led 1-nil at halftime.
