People are moving about freely at the moment with caution in Nadi and the flood waters have not receded in certain places, like Namotomoto River.

District Officer Nadi, Alifereti Abenasiga says they have advised people to stay away from flood-prone areas because the situation will not get any better in the next few days.

He says there are no reports of any casualties and he is hoping things will remain that way if people abide by the precautions given.

Abenasiga says they have staff members on the field doing assessments on the latest developments as well.
