Fitness device maker Fitbit is being bought by Google for US$2.1B.
The move allows Google to expand into the market for fitness trackers and smartwatches.
It comes at a time when loss-making Fitbit has been looking to expand into other areas.
Fitbit co-founder and chief executive James Park says Google is an ideal partner to advance their mission.
