Fuel prices go up from today while VAT zero rated on cooking gas

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has determined the new fuel and gas prices which will also see the removal of the 20 cents per litre fuel tax as announced in the Revised Budget.

From today, unleaded fuel will increase from $2.74 to $2.77 per litre while the price of premix will increase by 25 cents to $2.59 per litre.

Diesel will increase by 4 cents to $2.39 per litre while Kerosene will cost $1.84 per litre.

Meanwhile all cooking gas will be exempted from VAT of 9% from today while 9% VAT will apply on bulk and auto gas.

The price of a 12kg gas cylinder will now be $48.30 while a 4.5kg gas cylinder will now cost $18.11.

Bulk Gas will now be $3.73 per kg while auto gas is now $2.50 per litre.
