Seven local clubs will feature in the quarter finals of the Uprising Fiji International 7s this morning with only Samoa Barbarians the only overseas team to advance into the last eight.
Samoa Babas lost to Red Rock 19-14 in the feature game of day 1 and will meet Army in the last quarter finals this morning.
Red Rock, Samurai together with Wardens are the only unbeaten teams after yesterdays pool games while Army, Police, Navy, Digicel Matai and Samoa Babas tasted a defeat each.
The much talked about quarterfinals this morning will be between Wardens under the leadership of former Fiji 7s coach Joe Savou and the Digicel Matai with 7s wizard Waisale Serevi and Gordon Tietjens.
Serevi and Tietjens guided the Matai side to a 29-12 win against NZ Maori which saw them qualify to the quarterfinals against one of the favourites of the tournament.
Tietjens said his side will be the underdogs against the Wardens this morning.
For the only visiting team to be in the quarterfinals the Samoan Barbarians side believed they have learnt from yesterday's mistakes where they lost to Red Rock.
Coach Stephan Betham said the game against Army in the quarterfinal this morning will be a different ball game.
The first quarter final at 10.28am, Red Rock will face Navy, Wardens will take on Digicel Matai at 10.50am while the Samurai side will play Police at 11.12am and the last quarter final at 11.34am Army against Samoa Barbarians.
