Single mother still determined to provide for her family despite losing her job because of COVID-19
Lilian Tigarea of Nadi

Despite being terminated from her job because of COVID-19, a single mother is determined to not let her circumstances hold her down as she has to look after her three daughters.

Lilian Tigarea of Nadi was let go by ATS in June however she is currently getting government subsidised FNPF assistance of $220 a fortnight.

She is looking at upskilling herself to venture into other areas of employment or even start her own business as the fortnightly assistance is not enough to provide for her family.

Tigarea says that she has been receiving training on food processing and threading from FRIEND Fiji at their centre in Navakai, Nadi.

She also says that she is grateful to her landlord for lowering their rent.

Tigarea adds that she reminds her children that they are not the only family going through this tough time.
