Grief and togetherness were felt at a candlelight vigil for slain Newman Police Corporal Ronil Singh who has links to Fiji.
His wife, holding their 5‑month‑old baby stood with family while the community gathered in support.
Singh’s K‑9 partner was also with the family at the vigil.
Hundreds showed up for the public memorial, standing shoulder to shoulder in Newman’s Civic Center Plaza.
The Newman Police Department has announced plans are underway to hold Corporal Singh’s funeral on 5th January.
A man suspected of killing police officer Ronil Singh has been arrested, along with seven others alleged to be involved in the case.
Singh is from Naitata in Navua.
