Silverwaters Fibreglass Fiji have been employing unemployed people from the village of Ovea in Bau, Tailevu.
Managing Director, Frank Hamagushi says he helped up skill these people and now they have the skills in building fiberglass boats.
The company was operational from 2014 and has 18 permanent staff.
He says since the company was rural-based, he wanted to employ the people in the village and at the same time up skilling them in building boats.
