It is a sigh of relief for more than 200 families in Lakena Hill 2, Nausori as water supply has been normalied in their area.

This is after the Water Authority of Fiji was able to identify and rectify an airlock that was affecting the reticulation system.

WAF says after verification, their team was able to resolve the airlock issue by carrying out the required flushing operations along the trunk main supply to this area.

The authority further says they also plan to install pressure sensors and air valves along the pipeline to enhance monitoring and oversight abilities.

They say the water supply normalised on Saturday.

Resident Kristiana Ram earlier raised concerns that about 200 families from Lakena Hill 2 in Nausori were without running water for more than 8 days.

She also highlighted that this was affecting the residents as they were not able to do their washing, go to work and did not have enough water to drink.
