At least 20 people are believed to be dead from a mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, USA.

According to multiple sources, dozens are injured.

BBC reports that Police in Lewiston have warned that a gunman is on the loose, and residents have been told to find shelter.

Police have identified the shooter as 40-year-old Robert Card and stated that he should be considered "armed and dangerous".

The White House said President Joe Biden had been briefed on the situation and would continue to receive updates.
